Molykote Plating (Anti-friction) on all Metallic Materials
The stringent requirements for recycling of industrial products also presents the lubricant industry with new challenges and tasks. Greases and oils that are used as lubricants considerably inhibit the recycling process. The new requirement, therefore, is to develop dry lubricants, such as varnishes, which take on the strong adhesive and abrasion free qualities of wet lubricants, and to use these instead. Suitable for this purpose are combinations of graphite, molybdendi-sulfide, teflon, silver, zinc and organic binding agents. These materials are sintered onto a galvanized phosphate layer.
The composition as well as the layer thickness can be measured and maintained in our laboratory to ensure our clients’ exact specifications are met. However, an underlying prerequisite for correct functioning is a strong adhesive and uniform phosphate layer. This is guaranteed through continuous monitoring of the process parameters with our automatic phosphating control unit.
Application areas include, screws with a defined fastening torque, safety devices or mechanisms such as seat belt locking systems or adjusting mechanisms on rollers and slip rails.
