In spite of all concerns on the use of cadmium, it has not yet been possible to fully replace this metal used primarily in safety component parts. The spectacular features of cadmium are its high ductility, good lubrication properties, adhesion and high corrosion resistance chromated component parts withstand salt spray tests over 6000 hours, which makes them ten times better than zinc for the same type of chromate coating.
With our in-house developed cadmium plating system, we have proven that cadmium plating can be done almost without any emissions. The cadmium emissions in municipal sewage treatment plants are so low, that using sewage sludge for agricultural purposes presents no hazards.
